Compassion Care

A ministry to our city and surrounding areas, Compassion Coalition is comprised of four ministries. It provides food and related items to over 100 member agencies who serve the poor, underemployed and neglected.

For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat...

The pains of hunger have no boundaries. Whether it's the senior citizen in our own neighborhood or a child in distant Africa, we are mandated by Jesus to care for all. Compassion Coalition's Care team is attempting to do just that with a formula that works.

We solicit donations (or negotiate reduced cost) of surplus food and household products from grocery chains, manufacturers, retailers and distributors. Product is sorted, stored and packaged for our member agencies at our Lafayette St. warehouse.

We request financial support from individuals, churches, corporations, grants and government.

Approximately 85% of the food and product received at Compassion Coalition is distributed right here in the Mohawk Valley. The surplus is shipped to neighboring states to assist in their relief efforts or directly to Disaster Distribution sites. We occasionally assist third world countries in thier endeavor to care for the poor, when we have an excess of supplies

Our Purpose
